Assentou praça voluntária a 7.5.1883 no Batalhão de Caçadores d'El Rei em Lisboa. Desembaracou em Macau a 21.2.1884; promovido a 11o cabo a 3.1.1885; 1o sargento da Guarda Policial de Macau em 1890; sargento ajudante a 13.6.1896. Depois foi sucessivamente promovido, até passar à reforma como capitão. Era condecorado com a medalha de cobre de comportament exemplar, a medalha de cobre da classe de assiduidade de serviços no Ultramar, a medalha de prata "Rainha D. Amélia - Campanhas de Timor - 1900", as medalha de prata e de ouro da classe de assiduidade de serviços no Ultramar; cavaleiro da Ordem de S. Bento de Aviz.
Foi provedor da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Macau.

He enlisted voluntarily 5 Jul 1883 Battalion of Hunters of the King in Lisbon. He disembarked in Macau on 21 Feb 1884; was promoted to first corporal on 1 Mar 1885; first Sergeant of Police of Macao in 1890, adjutant sergeant on 13 Jun 1896. Then he was successively promoted until he retired as captain. He was awarded the medal of copper for exemplary conduct, the medal of copper of the class for assiduous services overseas, the silver medal "Queen Amelia - Campaigns Timor - 1900 ", the silver and gold medals of the class for assiduous services overseas; Knight of the Order of St. Benedict of Aviz.
He was a Provider of the Holy House of Mercy of Macau.1
